First Meeting of the U.S.–Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council Was Held

The U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, visited Uzbekistan for the second time in less than a year.

Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote on her Telegram channel that the first meeting of the U.S.–Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council had taken place, noting that the discussions were productive and forward-looking.

According to her, substantial and meaningful work lies ahead in key areas of strategic importance for both countries.

It should be recalled that the special envoy planned to visit Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan from February 3 to 7 and participate in the B5+1 Business Forum scheduled to be held in Bishkek.

Within the framework of the forum, he was expected to meet with senior business leaders and policymakers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the United States.

According to available information, Sergio Gor was born on November 30, 1986, in Tashkent. His full name at that time was Sergey Gorokhovsky, which was also confirmed by his lawyer, Robert Garson. During his childhood, Gor’s family moved to the United States, where he obtained American citizenship and later became a politician.
