The Prosecutor General's Office announced that it has filed a protest with the court regarding the punishment given to Asadbek Jumayev, a BMW enthusiast and head of Uzbelas Performance in Tashkent, who said he was proud of his violation.

After reviewing the video interview, it was found that Jumayev was fined 8.2 million soums on January 16, 2026, by the decision of the Mirzo Ulugbek District Court, under Article 195-2 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. Jumayev apologized, stressing that the "10 minimums" he said were only for bragging and PR purposes, and that the interview was taken out of context.

The incident and the interview have sparked widespread public outrage: experts have stressed the need for the law to be equal for all and not to lenient punishments based on familiarity. Against this backdrop, the Ministry of Justice is developing a draft law regulating illegal racing and other violations.
