Ferry carrying more than 100 passengers catches fire near Bali
On August 12, a ferry traveling from Indonesia’s Bali Island to Lombok caught fire at sea. There were 114 passengers and 17 crew members on board, along with 44 cars and 53 motorcycles.
Following the incident, an evacuation operation was launched. According to preliminary reports, 106 people have been rescued, while efforts to evacuate another 25 people are still underway. More than 200 personnel have been involved in the rescue operation.
There is currently no information about any fatalities.
