Father Forced 9-Year-Old Daughter to Eat Dung

A woman residing in the Qumqo‘rg‘on district of the Surkhandarya region reported that her husband forcibly put dung into their 9-year-old daughter's mouth as a form of punishment. According to the woman, the father filmed the incident himself. It is reported that even after the girl managed to run out of the room, the father brought her back inside and forced the dung into her mouth. He also ordered her 7-year-old younger sister to fetch boiling water and made her pour it into the older sister's mouth. The mother states that she reported the incident—along with video evidence—to the Qumqo‘rg‘on District Department of Internal Affairs in March, yet no action has been taken against the father to date. She noted that following the incident, the girl was unable to eat for several weeks and required medical treatment. In response to the situation, the Children's Ombudsman announced that the incident would be investigated from the perspective of the child's best interests and that a demand for appropriate measures would be made.
