Fatal accident during community clean-up claims life in Fergana

Tohirjon Jo'rayev, an employee of the Inson Social Services Center, died in a tragic accident during a community clean-up campaign in Fergana Region, the Social Protection Agency has announced.

According to the agency, the incident occurred on July 28 in Uchko'prik District. Members of the local "Mahalla Seven" were assigned by the district administration to take part in landscaping and public improvement work.

During the clean-up, the blade of a brush cutter being used by hired workers broke off and struck Tohirjon Jo'rayev in the abdomen. He died from the severe injuries he sustained.

The Social Protection Agency expressed its condolences to the victim's family and stated that they would receive the necessary social assistance. The agency also announced an investigation into the involvement of employees in duties outside their official responsibilities, adding that appropriate measures would be taken against those found responsible.
