Fake “Serkan Bolat” Scams Russian Woman out of 460 Million Soums
In 2024, a woman from Krasnodar, Russia, fell victim to a fraudster who posed as Turkish actor Kerem Bürsin. A Nigerian citizen met her via messenger and, using AI‑generated photos and videos, gained her trust. He then extracted over 3 million rubles (around 460 million soums) under the pretext of handling security, privacy, and migration issues. Once exposed, the fraudster was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.
