Extreme heat causes temporary power supply restrictions in some regions.

The Ministry of Energy announced that due to a sharp increase in electricity consumption during the heatwave, temporary outages of up to 2 hours may occur in certain areas.

On July 16, Uzbekistan’s unified energy system recorded daily electricity consumption of 291 million kWh — a record for the summer season. High temperatures are putting excessive strain on transmission lines and equipment, prompting short-term restrictions to prevent major accidents.

Currently, parts of Qashqadaryo, Jizzakh, Khorezm, and Tashkent regions have experienced temporary power cuts.

The ministry urged citizens to use electricity sparingly during hot days and to limit the use of high‑power appliances unless necessary.
