Explosion at gas plant in Qatar: more than 540 people injured
A powerful explosion occurred at a gas processing plant in the Ras Laffan industrial zone of Qatar. The incident injured 54 people and left 18 people missing.
It is reported that the explosion occurred during the commissioning of the plant on the night of June 21 and caused a fire. Emergency services were called to the scene and the fire was brought under control.
Rescuers are currently searching for the missing. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred due to a technical accident.
For information, the Ras Laffan complex is one of the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export centers.
