The international conference “Independence of Turkmenistan: experience and prospects for the development of international cooperation”, dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the country’s independence, was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The event was attended by representatives of various government bodies, the diplomatic corps, the scientific and educational community, and the media.
The conference highlighted the achievements and prospects for the development of international cooperation of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of positive neutrality.
The speakers who spoke at the event noted that Turkmenistan, over the years of independence, has made great progress in the field of international relations and diplomacy, in modernizing the national economy, and in consistently improving the social well-being of citizens. The country is successfully carrying out large-scale reforms in the socio-economic sphere, and national plans and objectives are being translated into reality.
Particular attention was paid to the foreign policy initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, expressed at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
The event also included an exhibition demonstrating the successes of Turkmenistan over the years of independence.
