Expanded meeting of the Security Council held under the chairmanship of Shavkat Mirziyoyev

On January 13, an expanded meeting of the Security Council was held under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The head of state outlined key priorities to ensure national security, strengthen defense capability, and adapt to modern forms of warfare.

The meeting discussed the development of the armed forces based on artificial intelligence, digital command systems, cyber and robotic technologies, modernization of the defense industry, and strengthening cybersecurity and the national digital infrastructure. The President emphasized the need for all sectors to shift to a “proactive mode of operation” in order to respond to threats in advance.

“It is essential to understand that the nature of modern warfare has changed fundamentally. Anyone who believes they can win relying only on tanks, aircraft, or the number of troops is deeply mistaken. Today’s conflicts are fought using artificial intelligence, digital control systems, long-range high-precision strike capabilities, cyber and robotic technologies, as well as political and economic pressure,” the President said.

He added that the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan must always be ready to protect the people, and therefore must be mobile, high-tech, and fully adapted to new combat conditions.
