Every third working Uzbek has a loan - Central Bank
According to the Central Bank, 5.18 million Uzbeks have at least one loan, which is a third of the economically active population. Of these, 1.4 million have received two or more loans. Since 2020, the share of borrowers with three or more loans has increased from 5% to 11%.
Also, starting July 2, the Central Bank began publishing average interest rates by loan type. As of July 1, the average rate on car loans is 24.1%, on microloans is 34.9%.
The cheapest car loans: Ipoteka-bank (21.1%), the most expensive: Hamkorbank (29%).
The lowest microloan: Aloqabank (21.4%), the highest: Apexbank (40%).
The regulator cited the reason for this as increasing transparency and expanding customer choice.
