Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reacted to the terrorist attack in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ankara. Anadolu reported about it.
Erdogan spoke at the opening of the autumn session of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey. The President noted that this terrorist attack was successfully foiled due to security measures.
"Terrorists trying to disrupt peace and security in Turkey will never achieve their goals," Erdogan said.
He called the incident "the last breath of terrorists" and said that the "rebirth" of terrorist organizations in Turkey is impossible.
A suicide bomber blew himself up in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs building in Ankara
In Ankara, two terrorists made an explosion at the gate of the Ministry of Interior of Turkey. The incident happened on October 1 at approximately 09:30 local time. One of the terrorists blew himself up, and the other was neutralized. Two policemen were slightly injured.
In his speech, the President also touched on the topic of relations between Turkey and the European Union. The head of state of Turkey called on Brussels to abandon its non-constructive position towards Ankara.
"If the European Union first abandons its unfair position on the issue of visas, it will correct its mistakes. Otherwise, he will lose the right to expect something from us," Erdogan said.
