Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in person for the first time during the annual high-level United Nations General Assembly. Erdogan said that he and the Prime Minister of Israel agreed on mutual visits. He announced this in an interview with Turkish mass media in New York. "Before, Netanyahu could not come to Turkey because of his illness. But now I told him that he should make this visit, and then me and my team will go to Israel. We reached an agreement. We hope to do this without any delays and start working with Israel on energy resources. "We will use the ways of supplying energy resources not only to Turkey, but also to Europe through Turkey," Erdogan said. "We talked about the potential of this cooperation. We also discussed the advantages of creating a mechanism for the development of mutual cooperation in various fields with the participation of ministers. These are energy, tourism, technology and other sectors. During the meeting, we had the opportunity to discuss the prospects of joint steps in international politics," said the Turkish leader. He said that the trade turnover between Turkey and Israel is 9.5 billion dollars. At the meeting with Netanyahu, it was decided to work on increasing this figure to at least 15 billion dollars.
