Our attitude to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is based on justice and honesty, the Turkish leader said.
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, participated in the organizational meeting of the Turkish Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) held at Beştepa National Congress and Culture Center.

In his speech, the President paid special attention to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"We are a nation that has not abandoned justice for centuries. Our attitude to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is based on justice and honesty," Erdogan said.

He criticized the position of the United States in this regard and called on all countries of the world to work for peace.

"What is more suitable for a country like America? Is he trying to make peace or is he fueling the fire?' - said the president.

Erdogan drew the world's attention to the dire humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip:

"There is no water, bread or food in Gaza. This is contrary to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Where is the West looking? What measures have they taken so far? None!'

Asserting that any war should be conducted according to certain rules, President Erdoğan compared the bombing of Gaza to a massacre.

"The massacre in Gaza cannot be justified by anything," he said.

"Cutting off the supply of electricity, water, fuel and food to 2 million residents of Gaza is inhumane and there is no such thing in the rules of war," Erdogan said.

According to him, states must comply with laws and take responsibility for this: "Unlike groups, states are obliged to respect the laws of war and human rights. We see that this border is gradually disappearing."

The President stated that the most important task now is to reduce tension and establish peace.

"We don't want conflicts to spread to our region. We call on those who have a voice and influence in the region to reduce tension and not blindly support someone," Erdogan said.
