A company in China fired an engineer for spending too much time in the toilet during work. It turned out that the employee went to the toilet 14 times in a month, sometimes spending more than an hour there, and at most up to 4 hours. The engineer explained this by his health - hemorrhoids. However, the court did not find this evidence sufficient. The decision noted that the time spent in the toilet far exceeded normal needs, and the employee did not take official sick leave.
The company confirmed the situation with surveillance camera recordings and, with the consent of the union, fired the employee. After legal proceedings, the company agreed to pay the former employee 30,000 yuan in compensation.
