Dear friends!
Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you, glorious workers – workers and employees, builders and engineers, machinists and conductors, veterans of the sphere on the Day of Railway Transport Workers.

We all gratefully acknowledge your invaluable role and significant contribution to the construction of a rapidly developing state and society opening up to the world – the New Uzbekistan.

On this wonderful holiday, which takes place on the eve of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of our beloved Motherland, we, of course, celebrate the long way of development of the railway sector of Uzbekistan.

During this period, more than 2,400 kilometers of new railways were built and put into operation, more than 3,000 kilometers were electrified and more than 1,100 kilometers of railways were rehabilitated.

The expansion of railway networks undoubtedly opens up new and new opportunities for the balanced development of all our regions, the integrated development of the richest mineral resources of the country.

This is clearly confirmed by the fact that since the formation of the Uzbekistan Temir Yullari Joint-Stock Company, the volume of passenger and freight traffic has increased more than 2 times, 1.6 billion tons of cargo and 380 million passengers have been delivered to their destinations.

Thanks to the fruitful work of many thousands of selfless compatriots like you, a unified railway system with modern infrastructure has been created in the country, capable of fully meeting the needs of the population and sectors of the economy, reliably and effectively connecting all regions and territories of the republic.

Today, our country, as a state with modern transport communications and high transit potential, has become an important link of international railways connecting East and West, South and North, and we are rightfully proud of this.

Modern electric trains "Afrosiab", plying from the capital to the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Karshi, have become a brand of national railway transport.

I hope that next year we will establish the movement of high–speed passenger trains on the Bukhara-Khiva route. Together with the creation of comprehensive amenities for the population, this will also contribute to the transition to a new level of development of the tourism sector.

Railway workers of Uzbekistan are actively involved in the implementation of important strategic projects for the construction of airports, metro lines, bridges and overpasses, and the development of deposits.

Our country has become the first state in Central Asia that has heavy machinery and foundry and metallurgical industry in the field of railways. Large industrial enterprises equipped with modern technologies have been built in the republic, production of wagons, modernization and repair of locomotives, freight and passenger wagons have been established.

The most important thing is that all the complex managerial and technological work in the field is carried out by local specialists, our determined and courageous youth.

Taking this opportunity, on my own behalf and on behalf of all our people, I express my gratitude to all the people, real professionals who work faithfully and conscientiously in this system.

Of course, we are all well aware that we still have a lot to do, there is a lot of work ahead to modernize the country's railway system, implement large and promising projects with broad involvement in foreign investment, train modern personnel who think in a new way and faithfully serve the Motherland.

I am sure that the employees of the railway sector, who have accumulated a lot of experience and knowledge over the past period, will successfully solve all the tasks with their fruitful work and creative potential. I would like to emphasize that the state will create all the necessary conditions to achieve this goal.
