Employees may work remotely if air quality deteriorates in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, special measures will be introduced in cases of sharp deterioration in air quality. According to the presidential decree, in such situations, state organizations may change the working regime or transfer employees to remote work.

Within a month, an urgent warning system will be established for the population, providing information about air quality via SMS, media and digital platforms. It is also planned to limit outdoor activities, especially for children, the elderly and people with chronic diseases, to stay at home, cancel open-air classes in schools and limit public events.

In addition, measures such as reducing industrial and transport emissions and temporarily restricting construction work have been established. Starting from May 1, 2026, monthly “Car-Free Day” campaigns will be held, and in some regions “green walls” will be built against dust storms.
