The military court of the Dushanbe garrison sentenced a serviceman - an employee of the Military Commissariat of the Firdavsi district of Dushanbe, ensign Rustam Mirsalimov to 10 years in prison for fraud on an especially large scale (Article 247 part 4 "b" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan).

According to the verdict, he is also deprived of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities related to property liability for a period of 3 years.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Tajikistan reports that Mirsalimov, through deceit or breach of trust, committed fraudulent crimes between July and September 2022, as a result of which he deceived 31 citizens, and the total amount of damage amounted to 689,493 somoni.

For example, using a military uniform and a certificate in October 2022 at the Mekhrgon market, he told the flour seller that he needed four hundred bags of flour, which he had to distribute to the military units of the Ministry of Defense of the republic.

At the same time, he noted that after the full distribution of flour, he would pay the seller the necessary amount.

Having received 350 sacks of first grade flour worth 115,500 somoni, Mirsalimov sold it to others and used the proceeds for personal purposes.
