Emomali Rahmon will go to Germany - visit details

A bilateral meeting between Emomali Rahmon and the Federal Chancellor of Germany is expected, the presidential press service emphasized

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will make a three-day visit to Germany.

This information was confirmed to Sputnik Tajikistan by the press service of the head of state.

It is noted that the trip will last from September 28 to 30.

Thus, the leader of the republic will take part in the meeting of the presidents of Central Asia with the head of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

According to the press service, the main topics for discussion will be:

strengthening regional and economic cooperation;

interaction issues that are important for the region and Germany.

A meeting of the leaders of the countries of the region with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz is also expected, during which issues of cooperation in the field of economic and energy policy will be discussed.

A bilateral meeting between Emomali Rahmon and Olaf Scholz is also planned, the presidential press service emphasized.

In addition, the head of Tajikistan will take part in the economic conference of the states of Central Asia and Germany.

Earlier, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin. During the negotiations, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects for relations of strategic partnership and alliance between the countries.

The leader of Tajikistan noted that issues of strengthening multifaceted cooperation with the Russian Federation occupy a special place in the state’s foreign policy, and the implementation of an investment project in the main sector of the republic’s economy was regarded as a promising direction of bilateral relations.

Due attention was paid to issues of migration interaction, in particular strengthening the legal and social protection of labor migrants, as well as preserving and expanding the common spiritual and cultural space of the peoples of the two countries.
