Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with the leadership of the Sughd region, the chairmen of its cities and districts

On July 8, as part of his working trip to the Sughd region, Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting in Khujand with the leadership of the Sughd region, the chairmen of its cities and districts.

During the meeting, the results of the socio-economic development of the Sughd region during the first 6 months of 2023 were discussed, tasks for the second half of the year were identified.

The President, summing up the results of his working trip, which continued from July 5 to 8 in a number of cities and districts of the region, spoke about the situation with the socio-economic development of the region and the challenges ahead.

It was emphasized that the current situation in the world, acute political and military clashes in some countries and regions of the world, climate change and its severe consequences - prolonged droughts and low water make life more difficult for the population of the planet, especially in terms of food supply.

In connection with the situation in the world, the head of state considered it necessary to fully implement the strategic goals and the Action Plan of the Government of the country to prevent the impact of possible threats on the national economy and said that this should be the business of every informed and enlightened person.

It was noted that the harvest season is currently underway, so farmers, each family must give priority to harvesting without loss of crops and harvesting agricultural products, including food for the winter period.

The leaders and specialists of the Sughd region, its cities and districts were instructed to arrange re-sowing without fail, to receive 3-4 crops from irrigated lands.

In order to bring the investment climate in line, the leaders of the Sughd region, its cities and districts were given the task of taking control of attracting investments, the effective implementation of state investment projects, and taking concrete measures to eliminate existing shortcomings in the implementation of some projects.

Taking into account one of the strategic goals - the accelerated industrialization of the country, the executive bodies of state power of the region, its cities and districts were given the task of strengthening work to attract more direct foreign investment.

The National Bank and other credit organizations received an assignment from the Head of State to take timely measures to increase lending, including the provision of loans to industrial enterprises, especially in remote regions.

According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the pace of development of production at some enterprises for the processing of minerals, in the coal and light industries decreased.

Therefore, the heads of the executive bodies of state power of the Sughd region, its cities and districts were given the task of expanding their activities to change the current situation, especially in the direction of organizing enterprises for the processing of raw materials, the production of final products and increasing exports of products.

As part of the Action Plan for a worthy meeting of the 35th anniversary of State Independence in the Sughd region, it is planned to build and restore 12 thousand objects and buildings, including 700 new production enterprises and workshops, more than 14 thousand jobs, 26 percent of the plan has been completed to date.

The analysis shows that the implementation of plans for creative work in a number of cities and districts of the region continues poorly, this requires the responsible persons to take the necessary timely measures.

Emomali Rahmon instructed the chairmen of the Sughd region, its cities and districts, together with the leaders of the working groups on creative work, to take under serious and constant control the implementation of the Action Plan for a worthy meeting of the 35th anniversary of State Independence, to take the necessary measures for the delivery of commemorative objects on schedule.

It was emphasized that in order for the construction and improvement work to be carried out successfully, first of all, it is necessary that they be aimed at creating industrial enterprises and workshops, organizing new jobs, creating the necessary infrastructure, primarily social, for construction with high architectural art of objects and buildings in order to thus increase the economic activity of the population.

The leaders and responsible persons of the Sughd region, its cities and districts, ministries and departments were instructed to take measures already now to comprehensively prepare the socio-economic spheres, primarily educational and healthcare institutions, for the autumn-winter period of 2023-2024.

At the end of his speech, Emomali Rahmon wished the leadership, activists and, in general, all the inhabitants of the region success in protecting national and state interests, fostering patriotism, hard work and maintaining official discipline.

After the speech of the President, the Chairman of the region Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, chairmen of a number of cities and districts of the region reported on the results of the socio-economic development of the Sughd region.
