The President of Tajikistan spoke on July 19 at the Central Asia + Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf summit in Jeddah.
In his speech, the President of Tajikistan focused on the importance of establishing a strategic dialogue in the "Central Asia-Gulf" format. He expressed the readiness of the Tajik side to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas of the economy, trade, investment, culture and other areas of mutual interest, including within the framework of the Joint Action Plan for 2023-2027.
Taking into account the hydropower potential of Tajikistan, the special interest of the Tajik side in attracting investments from the Arab countries of the Gulf for the development of "green energy" was emphasized.
Energy, industry, including light and food industries, as well as agriculture, banking, tourism, digitalization of the economy, information and communication and transit and transport areas were also named priority areas for the implementation of investment projects.
Emomali Rahmon also spoke about other promising areas of cooperation and proposed the creation of a specialized Investment and Development Support Fund within the framework of the "Central Asia-Gulf" format to financially support the developing countries of the Islamic world.
He expressed hope that the Arab countries of the Gulf and their financial institutions will make their investment contribution to the implementation of hydropower projects in Tajikistan.
The President also considered it important to involve the capabilities of the Arab countries in the construction of modern roads and railways with access to seaports.
"Given our great potential, we are ready to take joint effective measures to expand cooperation in the field of tourism. The unilateral visa-free regime introduced by the Tajik side in 2022 for citizens of the Gulf countries can help advance this process," the President of the Republic of Tatarstan said.
Bvl touched upon, among other things, the creation of joint ventures for the processing of environmentally friendly agricultural products, the implementation of various trade, economic and transport and communication projects of regional importance, the construction of modern roads and railways with access to seaports.

The parties expressed interest in developing and expanding political, trade and economic ties within the framework of the Joint Parliamentary Friendship Committee, the joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, the Investment Forum of the two countries and the Saudi Arabia Development Fund.
The directions considered beneficial for the parties were the expansion of cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, as well as the processing of agricultural products, light, food, pharmaceutical and mining industries.
"It was considered necessary to attract the capital of Saudi Arabia for the development of sectors of the national economy of Tajikistan, which have ample resources and opportunities," the official statement says.
Emomali Rahmon invited Muhammad ibn Salman Al Saud to pay an official return visit to Tajikistan at any time convenient for him.
