Electronic cigarettes banned in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, a law signed on November 27 included electronic cigarettes and liquids for them, as well as electronic nicotine delivery systems, on the list of products whose circulation is completely prohibited.
Now, criminal liability has been established for the manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, production, or importation into and exportation of these products to Uzbekistan: a fine of 123.6 million to 206 million soums, correctional labor for 2–3 years, restriction of freedom or imprisonment for 3–5 years.
Also, a person is exempted from liability if he surrenders the prohibited products and pleads guilty.
The law was implemented by amending the Law “On Restricting the Distribution and Consumption of Alcohol and Tobacco Products”. The goal is to prevent the use of electronic cigarettes among children and young people and protect health.
