EBRD internship program: first meetings of young professionals with company representatives

Young Turkmen specialists selected for internships in small and medium-sized enterprises of Turkmenistan as part of the initiative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development met for the first time with the heads of the companies in which they will undergo internships.

Each participant had the opportunity to negotiate with representatives of enterprises and leave their resume to the company of interest.

The results of the meetings will help distribute interns to companies. Two-month internships will begin on October 1.

Before meeting with business representatives, the trainees underwent training at the National Public Association “Union of Economists of Turkmenistan”. There they became acquainted with the general goals and objectives of internships, learned about the development of the private sector in Turkmenistan, learned the skills that successful interns should have, etc.

The young professionals were explained what the minimum requirements would be for them to start working, and were also introduced to the business expectations of interns under the EBRD Internship Programme.

In total, about 40 young people were selected for internships. 14 companies agreed to accept trainees. 3rd and 4th year students of higher and vocational educational institutions of Turkmenistan, as well as university graduates under 25 years of age, were selected for internships.

The internship program is funded by the European Union and is aimed at promoting youth employment, supporting companies in searching and recruiting young people.
