An earthquake occurred in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan.

This was reported by scientists from the Republican Center for Seismic Forecasting Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.

Tremors of magnitude 4.2 were recorded at 22:15 local time (09/15/2023, 17:15 GMT).

An emergency situation occurred in the Ishkashim region.

The exact coordinates of the earthquake were: 37.15 degrees north latitude; 71.66 degrees east longitude.

The epicenter lay at a depth of 132 km. The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent is 504 km in a southeast direction.

The Republic's Emergency Incident Committee has not yet reported any damage. There were also no reports of casualties.
