On July 28, Dushanbe hosted a solemn Ceremony for presenting notices of admission to Chinese universities as part of the Chinese Government Scholarships 2023 project.

The ceremony was attended by officials of ministries and departments of the Republic of Tajikistan, heads of joint Chinese-Tajik enterprises, as well as parents of scholarship holders.

Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Ji Shumin, noted that in recent years, Tajik-Chinese cooperation has been growing stronger, the countries have been continuously deepening cooperation in the field of education, communication and interaction between the youth of the two countries is being strengthened day by day,

The diplomat noted that the establishment of the PRC Government Scholarship has become a huge incentive for Tajik youth to learn the Chinese language and receive education in the People's Republic of China. In 2023, 103 young men and women from Tajikistan became scholarship holders. 53 of them are taking part in the current certificate awarding ceremony in Dushanbe.

“First of all, I would like to sincerely congratulate you and your parents on this significant event,” Ji Shumin greeted those present.

The Ambassador also expressed hope that in the future even more Tajik students will be able to receive a scholarship from the PRC, and thereby strengthen friendship between the youth of the two countries, and contribute to the development of Tajik-Chinese friendship.

Farrukh Khudoydodzoda, Head of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, took part in the ceremony of presenting certificates and welcomed the Tajik youth. He expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for many years of cooperation in the field of education, calling the establishment of the "China Government Scholarship" a very important step in the development of Tajik-Chinese relations. He noted that the allocation of quotas for the education of citizens of Tajikistan in educational institutions in the PRC and the training of specialists for various sectors of the economy and science of our country contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the ministries of education of the two countries.

Muhammad Egamzod, Advisor to the Asian Countries Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, emphasized how important it is to study Tajik students in educational institutions in China, which became possible thanks to the initiative and efforts of the heads of the two states Xi Jinping and Emomali Rahmon, who are striving for a strategic partnership. Tajikistan was one of the first to support China's Belt and Road Initiative. The Silk Road has historically linked and now links our countries. China is a country with an ancient history, but in the modern world it is one of the most advanced in all areas. Therefore, he wished the scholarship holders successful studies, mastering the most advanced scientific and technical knowledge provided by educational institutions in China and implementing them in the future for the benefit of our country, as well as adequately promoting the ideas of Tajik-Chinese friendship, raising it even higher. Sharifov Mukhibullo, one of the first scholarship holders, shared his memories of how he became a scholarship holder, studied in China and became an employee of a successful Tajik-Chinese company JV Zarafshon LLC. His life example undoubtedly became a good example for the youth. Aminzoda Obidjon spoke on behalf of the scholarship holders, who thanked the Chinese Embassy for their trust and assured on behalf of all the young men and women present that they would study hard in order to be of great benefit to their native country in the future and strengthen the friendship between the Chinese and Tajik peoples. The parents of the scholarship holders could not hide their joy and pride in their children. Parents of scholarship holders Bezhan Abdulloev and Romesh Muzaffari addressed with parting words and wishes for successful studies in Chinese educational institutions.

The purpose of establishing the PRC Government Scholarships is to stimulate and encourage the activity and initiative of Chinese language learners, to provide top students, school students with the best conditions and abundant resources. Scholarship winners are determined by the success of schoolchildren and students in learning the Chinese language and the results of the Chinese Language Olympiad.
