Driver who dragged traffic police officer with his car apprehended

In Samarkand, the driver of a Spark vehicle failed to comply with a traffic police officer's instructions and dragged him for several meters with the car.
The incident occurred on August 5 on Registan Street. The traffic police officer stopped the Spark for failing to observe a traffic sign and asked the driver for his documents. The driver refused to present the documents. When the inspector reached out, the driver rolled up the car window—trapping the officer's hand—and drove off.
The driver subsequently attempted to flee the scene. He and his vehicle were located and apprehended through a rapid search operation. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 219 of the Criminal Code. The driver has been taken into custody; he stated that he fled out of fear and expressed remorse for his actions. The investigation is ongoing.
