Drinking water supply 90%: Major changes await regions

As part of the Head of State's visit to France, 3 projects worth 340 million euros were agreed upon for drinking water in Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions. In particular, the French company "Suez" is taking over the private management of drinking water supply in Denov, Shorchi, Sariosiyo and Kumkurgan. As a result, centralized drinking water coverage in the region is expected to reach 90 percent. In five years, it is planned to install 4,800 "smart" meters and 2,800 telemetry systems on large water facilities and main pipelines.

The meeting also set the tasks of attracting the private sector to the sector and digitizing the sector. The coverage of centralized heating will increase from 37% to 58%. 9 thousand houses will be transferred to a closed heating system. The allocation of rural land will be simplified.
