Almaty. August 19. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev presented to the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev a report on the results of socio-economic development of the city for 7 months, the press service of the Akimat of Almaty reports. The city's economy is developing at a dynamic pace. The short-term economic indicator increased by 16%, and the business activity index accelerated to 54.7%. Manufacturing and trade are the main drivers of growth. The development of the economy has allowed to create 38 thousand new jobs. During this period, investments in the amount of over 750 billion tenge were attracted to the city's economy. Almaty also remains the main donor of the country's state budget. Special attention is paid to improving the quality of tourist services provided. The city is tasked with increasing the number of foreign tourists from 450 thousand to 600 thousand by the end of 2025. To improve the efficiency of the transport system, the Akimat is developing the transport framework of the city, taking into account the development of 5 new polycenters. As a result, it is planned to reduce the traffic interval during rush hours from the current 30 minutes to 5-10 minutes. A set of measures is being implemented in the metropolis to ensure the availability of educational and medical services. The construction and modernization of the existing 10 large multidisciplinary hospitals and maternity hospitals of the city is underway. By the end of the year, 11 schools and extensions for 5,670 places will be introduced. Next year it is planned to open 4 state kindergartens for 860 places. One of the key challenges for the development of the city is a stable water supply and the introduction of new sources. To provide centralized water supply to 100% of the population of the metropolis, 4 new water intakes are being designed and built. In addition, as part of the modernization of the municipal infrastructure of the city, it is planned to reduce the wear of heat supply, water supply and electricity networks annually.
