According to the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety and Public Health, the risk of the Ebola virus spreading in the Democratic Republic of the Congo spreading in Uzbekistan is assessed as low.
Experts note that Ebola is a severe infectious disease that is transmitted mainly through the body fluids of infected animals or patients. The disease is most common on the African continent.
The WHO also stated that the likelihood of Ebola reaching pandemic levels is low. In Uzbekistan, the epidemiological situation is stable.
According to the Committee, to prevent the entry of the virus, control has been strengthened at border points and citizens are undergoing medical observation.
Citizens are also advised not to travel to areas where Ebola is prevalent, to follow hygiene rules, and to immediately consult a doctor if symptoms appear.
