According to the publication, the deceased Savariya was from Alappuzha district of Kerala state, while the suspected student — 23‑year‑old Sadharul Anam — was born in Malappuram district. The suspect has been detained by law enforcement authorities. Preliminary information indicates that the incident occurred during a quarrel between the two students. After being hit on the head with the laptop, the girl was taken to hospital with a severe injury but died due to internal bleeding. An investigation is currently underway against the young man.
