Details revealed about the co-pilot who attacked the Flydubai captain

The co-pilot who attacked the captain of a Flydubai aircraft has been identified as Hammam al-Hammami, a 29-year-old Omani national.
According to US sources, al-Hammami worked as a trainee co-pilot at Oman Air in 2024. During that time, he was grounded after extremist materials were found in his possession. It is reported that he subsequently held a different position at the airline.
The UAE Public Prosecutor stated that during the Flydubai flight, al-Hammami attacked Captain Smith Macchhar in the cockpit with an emergency axe and attempted to seize control of the aircraft.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the attack and whether there are any links to other individuals.
