Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen government Nurmuhammet Amannepesov met with the Minister of National Education of Turkey Selile Eren Okten as part of the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Turkey.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the work of the joint Turkmen-Turkish school in Ashgabat, which symbolizes the close relationship between the two peoples. The importance of studying in Turkey for citizens of Turkmenistan was especially emphasized, reports the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic.
“These students are cultural ambassadors who undertake the important mission of transmitting friendship and brotherhood between the youth of the two countries. Such high-level visits and cooperation efforts will shape the future of the two states and determine the quantity and quality of educational opportunities we will offer them,” the Turkish minister said during the meeting.
In turn, the Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the hospitality, noting that the members of the delegation “are very happy to come to our brotherly country - Turkey. Relations between fraternal peoples, based on a common history and culture, will achieve greater progress.”
Amannepesov also outlined the relevance of implementing educational programs between countries, noting the high quality of Turkish education. A member of the Turkmen government highly appreciated the graduate students and already working specialists who studied in Turkey.
According to data from open sources, about 12 thousand students from Turkmenistan are studying in Turkey.
