Deputy dean caught demanding money to help a student pass the final exam
A deputy dean at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University has been detained for demanding US$500 in exchange for helping a student pass the final state examination.
According to reports, he told the student that there was no need to prepare for the exam because he would personally take care of the matter, and requested $500 for doing so.
Following the student's complaint, law enforcement officers carried out a special operation. The deputy dean was caught red-handed while receiving part of the agreed amount — 2 million Uzbek soums.
A pre-investigation inquiry into the incident is currently underway.
