Deputies named the reasons for inflation in Kyrgyzstan

Today, on October 20, the parliamentary groups "Eldik" together with the parliamentary factions "Alliance", "Yntymak", "Butun Kyrgyzstan" and "Yyman Nuru" are considering the republican budget of Kyrgyzstan for 2024.

During the meeting, Deputy Sultanbay Aizhigitov asked the Ministry of Economy about the causes of inflation in Kyrgyzstan.

Economy Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev said that inflation is related to imports.

"We have inflation, because food products are completely imported, because of this, there is inflation. It should be noted that another 98% of fuel and lubricants are imported, " the official said.

He added that if the Cabinet does not raise wages, ordinary citizens "will not be able to buy a loaf of bread because of inflation."
