Dam Burst in China
In Guangxi Autonomous Region, China, the Liulan reservoir dam collapsed due to heavy rainfall and the impact of a typhoon. A massive volume of water rushed downstream, flooding residential areas. The highest emergency level — Level I — has been declared in the region. According to the latest reports, at least 39 people have died and 9 others are missing as a result of the dam burst. Rescue teams are working continuously at the site.
