A criminal case has been initiated against Yunusjon Nasimjonov, the former head of the Tashkent City Tax Department, and referred to court.
He is charged under Article 167, Part 3, Clause "a" (misappropriation or embezzlement) and Article 205, Part 2, Clause "a" (abuse of official authority) of the Criminal Code.
Nasimjonov headed the Tashkent City Tax Department from 2021 to 2026. In January 2026, during a presidential meeting, instructions were issued to dismiss him from his post and investigate his activities.
Additionally, Alisher Ganiyev—deputy head of the Tashkent City Department under the Prosecutor General's Office—is standing trial on charges related to abuse of official authority and illegal exit from or entry into Uzbekistan.
Court hearings for both cases are scheduled to take place on September 21 at the Shaykhontohur District Court for Criminal Cases.
