Several corruption cases were identified in Tashkent and Navoi regions, and officials were detained during operational measures. In Tashkent region, an inspector of the district department of the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency was detained while receiving $2,200 in exchange for issuing a certificate and declaration documents to a citizen permitting the removal of natural grass from a 20-hectare land plot in the state reserve. During the investigation, it was determined that $200 of this amount was the inspector's share, and the remaining $2,000 should have been given to the head of the district department. After that, the head of the department was also detained during an operational measure while receiving $2,000.
In Navoi region, a machinist of the district department of Navoi Water Supply JSC was detained while receiving $500 in exchange for placing a citizen in a job as an operator. During the event, the chief engineer who received the money, who had previously been convicted, was also arrested, and it was revealed that the head of the district department was also involved in the illegal situation. Criminal cases have been initiated and investigations are underway regarding these circumstances.
