Construction works halted at 15 sites polluting the air in Tashkent

In Tashkent, construction works at 15 sites that polluted the air have been temporarily suspended. As a result of inspections, 70 individuals were held administratively liable. During the investigation, 96 construction sites across 12 districts were checked. At 60 sites, violations of requirements to prevent air pollution with dust and sand were found, while at 47 sites the requirement to green at least 25% of the construction area was not fulfilled.

A total of 140 staff members were involved in the process. At 24 sites, water washing devices were installed, and at 62 sites special pools for washing vehicle tires were set up.

The inspection was carried out jointly by the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Construction, the Energy Inspection, the Construction Inspection, and the Sanitary-Epidemiological Service.
