Construction of a $100 million stadium has begun in New Tashkent

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid the foundation stone for the construction of a modern football stadium in New Tashkent on November 11.

The stadium, which costs $100 million and is designed to seat 55,000 spectators, will be built in accordance with FIFA requirements. The new facility is expected to be one of the largest and most modern stadiums in Asia.

The head of state noted that New Tashkent will become the country's center of new opportunities and progressive ideas. The stadium will be built in harmony with nature, based on the principles of "green energy", "smart management" and "comfortable environment".

The president also listed the achievements of Uzbek football in recent years - the national team qualified for the World Cup for the first time, the youth team became the Asian champion, and the total transfer value of 20 players exceeded $60 million. The new stadium is planned to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in 2027. A separate state program for preparation will be adopted in this regard.
