Commemorating Islam Karimov

Today, January 30, on the birthday of Uzbekistan’s first president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid flowers at the monument of Islam Karimov. The ceremony included Quran recitation and prayers, honoring the first president’s service to the country and his personal virtues.
The event was attended by representatives of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the government, figures from science and culture, and the public. Flowers were also placed at Karimov’s monuments in Samarkand and Qarshi.
