Colgate toothpaste banned in Argentina

The Argentine National Directorate of medicines and food technology (ANMAT) banned the sale of Colgate Total Clean Mint toothpaste from 22 July. This decision was made due to the fact that in citizens who used the product, negative effects such as purulent wound in the mouth, burns and inflammation were observed.
More than 11,000 cases were reported in Brazil and at least 21 in Argentina. ANMAT ordered the removal of the product from all pharmacies and outlets.
