Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” trailer watched 33 million times in 3 days

The first trailer of “The Odyssey”, directed by Christopher Nolan and based on Homer’s epic poem, was watched more than 33 million times in just three days after its release.

The leading role of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, is played by Matt Damon. His wife Penelope is portrayed by Anne Hathaway, while their son Telemachus is played by Tom Holland.
The film’s plot is based on the ancient Greek epic and tells the story of Odysseus’ long and dangerous journey home after the Trojan War, including his encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus and the sorceress Circe.

With a budget of $250 million, “The Odyssey” is the most expensive film in Christopher Nolan’s career and also his first movie shot entirely with IMAX 70 mm cameras. Filming took place from February to August 2025 in Morocco, Greece, Italy, Scotland, Iceland, and Western Sahara.

The cast also includes Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, and Jon Bernthal.
The film is scheduled to premiere in the United States on July 17, 2026.
