Chinese man who tortured a cat in Tashkent may face deportation

According to the “Mehr va Oqibat” (Compassion and Mercy) Society, on the night of September 17, a local woman in the capital recorded her Chinese neighbor on video putting a cat into a basket and pouring boiling water over it. The footage shows the man stepping onto his balcony, pouring boiling water onto the basket, and preventing the cat from escaping.

The animal protection society officially appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Chinese Embassy in Tashkent, demanding that the perpetrator be held accountable under the law and deported. The appeals stressed the need to apply Article 111 of the Administrative Liability Code, which covers cruelty to animals.
