The Chinese Embassy in Russia reported that Russian law enforcement agencies interrogated five Chinese citizens at the border for several hours and did not allow them to enter. The embassy called such behavior "cruel". This is stated in a statement by diplomats posted on the Chinese social network WeChat, writes robloomberg.

According to the embassy, on July 29, five Chinese citizens tried to enter Russia from Kazakhstan. At the border, they were” repeatedly interrogated for four hours", after which they were not allowed into the country. Their tourist visas have been canceled, diplomats say.

” The cruel and exaggerated actions of Russian law enforcement agencies in connection with this phenomenon seriously undermined the legal rights and interests of Chinese citizens, " the message said.

The embassy, after reviewing a video of the incident, sent representatives to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Federal Security Service and the border service, demanding to explain the reasons for the incident and “guarantee that such events will not happen again in the future”.

“This is contrary to the general view of Sino—Russian friendship and the growing trend of friendly relations between countries,” the embassy said.

The Russian side has not yet commented on the incident.
