China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway to be put into operation in 4 years

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will be put into operation in 2030. Japarov noted that this project will open up transit connections and increase the international importance of the region. If we are currently living in a country that is "dead-end" between Europe and China, then with the completion of this railway, we will become a transit country, he said. For information, the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will begin in 2024, and its total cost will be 4.7 billion US dollars. Also, with the commissioning of the new railway, it is expected that trains will initially transport 8 million tons of cargo, 10 million tons in 2040, and 13.5 million tons in 2050. As a result, the delivery time of goods will be significantly reduced, creating broad opportunities for entering markets. In particular, the Kyrgyz government has emphasized that the project will pay for itself within 30-40 years.
