On the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting was held between the Ministry of transport of the republics of Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Turkey and representatives of the railway industry in the form of a video conference.
The meeting discussed important issues aimed at accelerating the processes associated with the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the International Transport Corridor “China – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Turkey – Europe”. Aspects related to the development of international transport and transit route between states were also considered.
The parties noted that the development of the International Transport Corridor” China – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Turkey – Europe " is equally beneficial for all, this corridor serves to open new opportunities for the development of transit transport and trade relations between countries.
After all, the general purpose of this historical cooperation is to promote trade in the region, increase the volume of international cargo transportation, increase transit traffic and revenues from it. Within the framework of the directions of cooperation discussed at the meeting, the parties determined the tasks to be carried out in the future.
The efforts to form new alternative transport corridors are significant in that they are aimed at deepening the integration of the Republic of Uzbekistan into the world transport and logistics networks and achieving the goals of increasing the capacity of the national transport system as defined in the Uzbekistan – 2030 strategy.
