Child rescued after climbing outside a 10th-floor window

A 5-year-old boy was rescued in Aktau, Kazakhstan, after climbing outside a window on the 10th floor of an apartment building.

Witnesses spotted the child sitting in the open window with his legs hanging outside and immediately alerted the police. By the time officers arrived, the boy was standing on the outer window frame. The officers quickly entered the apartment and safely pulled him back inside.

It was later revealed that the boy’s mother had been asleep at the time. According to her, they had been resting together when the child woke up and climbed out of the window on his own.

Following the incident, Kazakhstan’s police urged parents not to leave children unattended near open windows, to install child safety window locks, and to avoid placing furniture next to windows.
