Checkpoints at Tashkent’s Entry and Exit to Be Relocated

Plans are underway to relocate the checkpoints controlling entry and exit to Tashkent city, according to Baxtiyor Haydarov, the First Deputy Mayor of the capital.
Every day, more than 400,000 vehicles and over 1 million people travel in and out of the city. Once the checkpoints are moved, bus terminals, parking areas, and camping sites will be established near the new locations.

In addition, the public transport system will be expanded — with dedicated BRT-style lanes and routes — aimed at significantly reducing traffic congestion. The design phase will start this year, and construction is expected to begin early next year.
