In colony No. 55 in Turkestan region in the south of Kazakhstan, prisoners organized a riot, they set fire to an electric transformer. A total of about 400 prisoners took part in the riot, two soldiers of the National Guard and an employee of the institution were injured. The committee of the country's criminal-executive system stated that a group of prisoners were dissatisfied with the regime of detention. Now the situation in the colony has stabilized.
A criminal case has been initiated against those who took part in the riot.
