Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to consider the possibility of involving representatives of Afghanistan in a regional dialogue on the joint use of water resources
The construction of the Afghan Kushtepa canal can radically change the water regime and balance in the region.
This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting of the Council for Saving the Aral Sea within the framework of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region in Dushanbe.
According to him, it is necessary to create a joint working group that will monitor all aspects of construction, as well as the condition of the Amu Darya River.
Mirziyoyev also proposed considering the possibility of involving representatives of Afghanistan in a regional dialogue on the joint use of water resources.
Earlier, the President of Uzbekistan proposed a plan to save Central Asia from drought.
He expressed confidence that the success of regional environmental projects depends on international cooperation, as well as introducing young people to careful use of natural resources.
